We celebrated Valentine's Day this weekendwith our group of friends that we do our monthly dinners with.I was so happy our month came with a romantic holiday!
To celebrate Valentines Day I chose a soft color palettewith pale pinks and greens.
I still am using my driftwood as a centerpiece base atop my knit runner.
I found the most wonderful pale pink pink multi petaled liliesI gathered them full and cut them shortand into tea cups and a beautiful collection of small vessels.
My large airplants still mixed in perfectly in this tablescape as well!As did my pink sand succulent orb.
For place settings I did four layersbeginning with a straw charger and a hammered metal charger.I mixed my pale pink modern Sasaki plates from our weddingwith romantic pink trimmed bone china given to me by my Mother in Law years ago.It makes my heart so happy to mix beloved pieces togetherfor a fresh new look!
I carried my pale pinks across to our living room area.Simply adding in tea cup bouquets to my existing candle centerpiece.
My soft sculpted heart that I shared last post herewas hung over the macrame covered chalk boardfor a quick Valentine nod.
I kept my couches simple letting the new dusty rose mohair pillows do the talking.
On the wall in the back left corner of this pictureare display shelves and a small mattressthat I always keep up year roundas it is such a quick and easy way to bring seasonal decor into the room.
For Valentine's Day I simply slipped cut stems into the backs of frames.
Then I realized the mattress could become a perfect background for a floral heart installation.I bought several dozen roses and clothes pinned them to the wire mattressusing the remaining greenery to fill in the heart!
I chose to wear a full skirt and cashmere sweaterfinished with romantic pearl statement necklaces.I wanted an outfit that was cozy and still elegant for my evening of Valentine hostessing.
For those of you who are faithful followers of my blogyou may recognize this dress from HERE or HERE.When I bought it for my Mother of the Bride dutiesI knew I would get so much use of it!
This wearing I simply added my cashmere sweater over the sleeveless dress
turning it into an instant ball skirt!
It ended up to be such a wonderful dinner party! With good friends and a delicious meal prepared by my husband!A perfect way to begin the Valentine celebrations!!
As always my friends
I wish you love and joyas you style your life
