Vacationer Previews Album with Lush New Tracks [stream]

Vacationer champion the hazy, summery and surreal. From their last Ode 2 Summer EP, to the very ethos of their name, the band simply exudes lush warmth. In their newly released track “The Wild Life”, they remind us that there’s “no point in making plans” as “the wild life is human nature,” literally urging us to sit back, chill out and observe. The track is jovial and bubbly with a more exotic feel, primarily comprised of Senegalese-style drumming and beachy vocals.

This optimism extends beyond their lovely lyrics and tone in this first song. The second preview track released, “In the Grass”, opens with emotional drum beats that create a dream-like state and goes on to show a defined bass and guitar with a pronounced yet enchanting rhythm. Their songs synthesize the worldly with the otherworldly, and the international with the local. They induce movement from even the anti- dancer and will undoubtedly bring any listener to a summer-like mentality.
