Remember the loner stoner group in high school? Wayne Memmers of Vacation has crafted a tribute song to this clique that nobody seemed to pay much attention to. Appropriately understated and off-tune, “Neutral Acid King” begins simply with high-pitched, rhythmic guitar strumming. As it progresses, fluid strings glide above the melody, and the song climaxes into a jumbled mix of mumbled voices and white noise which eventually fade out. The track totally evokes that dream-trip, floaty feeling that accompanies your average acid trip (not that we would know what that feels like).
