uTorrent, the popular BitTorrent client took a massive beating when users backlash over the company’s sneaky attempts on installing Bitcoin miners on computers without proper user permission. Obviously, this forced a lot of users to find alternatives and uTorrent lost a massive amount of users over the scandal.

The company is now desperately trying to win back its’ users with the latest uTorrent 3.4.3, which now comes free from any scam software or Bitcoin miners. Jordy Berson, the VP of Product Management for µTorrent reassured that they will not make the same mistake again.

“The Epic Scale Partner offer has been permanently suspended. This means that as long as you are downloading µTorrent directly from us, the Epic Scale partner offer will not appear,” Berson wrote on a blog post.

Berson also asks users to download the latest version of uTorrent directly from the official website, since third-party sites may still distribute the older version of the software bundled with the Bitcoin miner.

“We acknowledge again that we misjudged how this offer would be received, and we apologize to users who have objected to it or who had trouble uninstalling that software. We understand this has already eroded some users’ trust in μTorrent.”
