I wanted to share with you a few of my makeup organizing ideas...but really... this post is so much more than that...
This post is really about my style belief in ...using what you have... when you have it.Celebrating the life you have...with what you have...Styling your life isn't about perfect solves...but rather...using what you have in the best way possible...
to make your life not only more beautiful...
but more efficient as well. That said...I keep my makeup organized and ready to use...
by using framed mirrors as trays...I like the bit of glamour the mirrors add...my small items are then placed in small trays set on top.
All of these pieces I either picked up at flea markets of discount stores...or simply had on hand and simply repurposed.
This keeps every thing in plain sight...and at the ready.
Well...plain sight once you step into the bathtub...
You see...having the right lighting for makeup application is key to me...as is having everything I need in easy and visual reach...
Now you see what I mean... by not having to have a perfect solve...but rather a solve that works.
The light not only works here...but I can live with my makeup on display...because it really behind the curtain...(which by the way is actually a thermal blanket... more about that a different time ).
Living in a small house for the past 19 years...I have honed the skill of literally makingevery inch count.
This shelf and window sill do double duty as my perfectly lit makeup 'table'.
Everything is laid out efficiently...and in order of application as well.
My newest problem solve...
many of my makeup essentials involve keeping them sharp...
So what's a girl who wants things pretty, neat and easy...andhas to step into a tub to get there to do her makeup...
well... repurpose a shot glass from rag&bone to be sure.I now have one on my tray with the sharpener inside...so now the shavings have a perfect place to fall... keeping my mirror trays tidy.
A big part to successful life styling...
is learning to see beauty in all that you have...and figuring out ways to celebrate the beauty to it's best potential...not waiting for things to be perfect...for even if they are...those moments in life are fleeting...
It is far more important to grow a heart...that can see the possibilities in the here and nowand adding a dose of organization...just adds efficiency to a life full of gratitude.
As always dear friends
I wish you love and joyas you style your life
