Using It All - No Spend

By Sue15cat
Using It All - No Spend   Keeping your spending as low as possible means using up every last little bit of all things that you buy.  I learnt years ago that squeezing tubes until you thought they were empty was not the way to get every bit of the product inside them out.   This particular tube of hand cream had been squeezed in every direction until it was giving me nothing for all my efforts.  So I did what I always do and chopped it in half.  The cream that was stuck to the top half was scraped out with my finger and nail and deposited into the bottom half, where it joined a good couple of spoonfuls of hand cream that had been determined not to head for the hole in the bottom.
Using It All - No Spend   Now I have a couple of days worth of hand cream to keep me going until I head for the cupboard and a replacement tube.
Using It All - No Spend   And to keep it fresh and stop it drying out I simply use the cut off half as a top.  It slides on easily after each time I use the hand cream.    And yes, I am using a lot of hand cream at the moment.  With Mavis, erm how shall I say it .... throwing off her worm load every time she goes to the toilet, I need to be even more fastidious than usual to keep both me and the other dogs healthy and happy, so lots of hand washing is going on at the moment.
Using It All - No Spend   As I type this the scene at my feet is this one.  Rosy is curled up on our bed, on top of the day quilt away from the madness of the puppy and our returning confused little doggy.  Suky takes it all in her stride and the rhythmic sound of her contented snores calm the other two down and make for a peaceful hour.   Using It All - No Spend   Mavis last night, settled by the Aga in her old bed, starting to feel loved again I hope.   Sue xx
