Hello lovely readers! In November, I jetted off to the USA and Canada for a holiday to visit family, shopping and some sight-seeing. This is actually my fourth trip to the US. I usually go once every two years but hoping to go more often now. I love the US!! No matter how many times I visit, it just keeps getting better and better.
We spent most of our time around L.A and also did a road trip to Vegas. Even though I’ve been to the US (L.A specifically) many times, there are still so many places I haven’t visited. So we ticked off some of the touristy areas that I’ve been wanting to go to this trip.

Who doesn’t want to see Rodeo Drive?!?! I’ve always wanted to visit Rodeo Drive since watching Pretty Woman. I loved the window shopping and checking out the displays of each shop. Everything is extremely expensive and from what the hubs tell me, the locals don’t really shop there, apart from movie stars and really rich people.

On the same day, we also stopped by the Santa Monica Pier. To be honest, I think Hollywood totally hyped up this place. When I was there, it felt like an old run down place with a few crazy kids running around and creepy carnival games. Before arriving, I imagined the pier to be dreamy and romantic like places where young boys go to woo girls. But nope, I know I wouldn’t like to be wooed here for sure. The movies make everything look so good.

Next stop, Vegas!! Let me start off by saying, if you are heading to Vegas, you must check out the Primm outlets just outside of Vegas. It is the best outlet around there, I bought so many good stuff at amazing prices. There are other outlets around Vegas but they are just so-so.
First night in Vegas, we went to watch the Boyz II Men at the Mirage. If you are going to see the concert, make sure you book seats that are closer to the front and near the aisle. They give out free hugs and roses which I totally missed out on (we sat middle-middle).

We stayed at the Wynn Encore in Vegas. This hotel is awesome, could not fault them one bit!! The hotel was very clean, spacious and there was even a tv in the bathroom. Did you know the refrigerators in the hotel rooms have sensors installed in them? If you rearrange anything in there, the sensor will detect it and you’ll get charged for it! Luckily when we checked out, I checked the receipt and explained to the front desk what happened.

Every hotel has a bunch of shops and some kind of fancy displays. The carousel in the photo is completely made out of flowers. I was so impressed, I took this photo for you. What’s a trip to Vegas without a buffet? We went to my favorite buffet at Wynn. It’s $40 for all you can eat. They have a room filled with all kinds of dessert. I usually eat one plate of savory stuff and move onto the desserts and that’s when the buffet really starts for me haha. If you want a taste of being in a gondola, visit the Venetian and they have one running through the hotel.

The second night in Vegas, we went to watch my very first Cirque Du Soleil show – Michael Jackson One. I read that this is not their typical Cirque Du Soleil show where they usually have a lot of acrobatics. They had quite a lot of dancing and the visuals was seriously AMAZING.

Now we head back to L.A! We spent our second last day at Disneyland (my third time here). It is truly the happiest place on earth. I told the hubs, if we ever moved there, I would get a yearly pass to Disneyland. I’m not a ride kinda gal but I love the atmosphere there, everyone is friendly.

Pluto and I! All the characters were wearing their holiday outfits which got me even more excited.

The hubs and I did a lot of shopping this trip, both of us went over our budgets and we started swiping our cards. One of the proudest moment on this trip was….I made it to VIB Rouge at Sephora!! For some, it might be nothing to be proud of but it’s something to me!
Hope you enjoyed this post, next up is my trip to Canada!
