We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

We were very kindly sent some luxury chunky twine by Rope Source to have a play with and try some crafty projects. Being the lead up to Christmas I'm planning to use some to hang the Christmas cards on and also having a rope display in the playroom for the girls' pictures.

After several weeks of playing with ideas and pottering, I must say it's been lovely upcycling and making every day items a bit more homely as well as preparing to wrap some Christmas presents with a more traditional look - brown paper and twine. The difference being this twine comes in lovely colours (even sparkly!). I chose the luxury chunky twine selection box which has the versatile chunky twine perfect or crafting and doing a bit of upcycling.

As you can see crafting with twine, and upcycling really is super simple, anyone can do it!

Why not give a really unique handmade gift this Christmas? Or get the kids involved?

Twine pencil holder

A twine pencil holder for H, as hers were quite boring. I'm now making some more for me. I think this would work with any colour of twine, but the colourful kind really makes every holder different.

Upcycled chair

The girls both have matching plain white wooden IKEA chairs at our dining table, and the rest are leather. I revised they'd love them to be unique, so a bit of twine and bingo they each have a chair with their favourite colour. Pink for H and yellow for B.

Do tie the ends tightly otherwise crafty toddlers CAN unravel it!

My next job is to make the girls cushions for their chairs as they are quite uncomfy!

What do you think? What would you do with some crafty colourful twine?
