Hellooo shimmers,
Moving into university has to be on of the strangest and most surreal things I have ever done. I moved in on Sunday 7th of September.
I packed most of my stuff from my room and moved them into my petit room. I am staying in catered accommodation (basically our food is provided for us, we go to a large canteen for dinner and breakfast). The food is surprisingly good!
My mom dad and brother helped me move in stayed for an hour or so and then left.
I was really strange being left on my own, I hadn't met anyone yet and wasn't really sure what to do.
Our block of rooms had a meeting that afternoon which was really good as no one else on my floor had moved in yet so I got to meet other people on other floors.
I might quite a lot of people and it was quite overwhelming! As people continued to move in I met some of the people on my floor, whom are mainly boys but there are also some girls. There was a girl at the end of my corridor who was lovely and from Liverpool.
That evening was a James Bond themed party at the Student union club. It was so much fun and I met so many different people, not that I could remember any names in the morning!
Monday morning was a horrible time, there had been so much happening on Sunday that it hadn't really sunk in yet but Monday morning it sunk in. I was sitting in my room, alone wondering what the hell I was going to do!
I had spoken to a girl who was staying in my block before I went and so I met up with her and we wondered about, went to the supermarket and just met some more people.
It was Monday night at dinner when I met two lovely girls who are my good friends now. They are in my block, one is on my floor and the other is on the floor below.
Freshers week was really great, we went so many different sorts of events and really got to each other well. There was a group of about 4-5 of us, depending on who was about, that would go to dinner and breakfast together which was really good.
I was so surprised how many English and international students there were considering it is a Scottish university. The boy in the room next door to me is from Hong Kong, one across the corridor from Ireland, Thailand, Nigeria, Finland, England, France. It is so cool to meet so many different people.
Freshers week wasn't what I was expecting, I was expecting a lot of drinking and partying, which I enjoy just not every night, but it wasn't, well you could If you wanted to but there were so many other events on as well.
I love my room and I have tried to make it as homely as possible.
My next University post is going to be a tour of my room and block, but I need to have a tidy up first!
