University of Amsterdam: Assistant Professor in Philosophy of Science

The University of Amsterdam, Faculty of Humanities, Department of Philosophy, seeks to appoint one Assistant Professor in Philosophy of Science: a full-time, permanent position subject to a two-year probation period.

Job description:
The ideal candidate will have published and/or forthcoming contributions in A-class international peer-reviewed journals testifying a promising research profile. The candidate should have experience with teaching both inspiring courses at MA level and broad courses in Philosophy of Science: the selected candidate is expected to (co-)teach introductory courses in the Philosophy of Science, to philosophy students as well as students from other departments of the Faculty of Humanities. Furthermore, she/he will teach MA courses on the Philosophy of the Social Sciences within a dedicated master programme. She/he is expected to take an active role in departmental activities ranging from research seminars to board memberships and grant applications. The gross monthly salary will range from €3,259 (scale 11) to €5,070 (scale 12), based on a full-time appointment (38 hours a week).
