Unique Ways to Reverse the Signs of Aging on Your Skin

Everyone is born with beautiful skin. How we treat our skin, the amount of stress and general living over time is what contributes to the aging process.

Today, there are many different treatments that can help reverse the signs of aging. Some are medical procedures and others are things you can do at home.

Stem Cell Therapy is one of the latest ways scientists and doctors are working together to help women, and men, look younger. You can find more about the future of stem cell therapy and other procedures below.

Ways to Reverse the Signs of Aging

Here are 8 unique ways to reverse the signs of aging on your skin.

  1. Skin Deep

When you opt for stem cell therapy, you are not only helping your skin, but the increased amount of stem cells in the body help many of your organs as well. Since your skin is the largest organ in the body, it is no coincidence it gets the most help.

Stem cell therapy can:

  •   Even out skin tone
  •   Increase cell life
  •   Improve skin tightness and elasticity
  •   Reduce sun damage
  •   Reduce fine lines
  •   Reduction of environmental damage

Increasing Counts of Stem Cells in The Body

Once there are more stem cells in the body, the skin is not the only organ that will benefit. Other organs that see improvement include:

  •   Lungs
  •   Pancreas
  •   Bladder
  •   Adrenal glands
  •   Kidneys
  •   Heart
  •   Blood
  •   Skin
  •   Tendons
  •   Stomach
  •   Brain
  •   And nearly all other organs in the body.

Regenerative Medicine

Stem cells used in the anti-aging process are referred to as regenerative medicine. The stem cell used most regularly are the Mesenchymal Stem Cells or MSCs, which originates in the bone marrow of the body. These cells are like a mini army and can repair and restore the cells that are damaged and that cause aging.

The amount of stem cells circulating within the bloodstream is what determines health. Therefore, if the number of stem cells is increased, the health of the body will become better.

How Stem Cells Works

It begins with harvesting the stem cells from your bloodstream, then spinning the blood until the MSCs are formed. Once this happens, the newly formed stem cells are placed back into the body.

There is no need to worry about infection or rejection as the stem cells take from your body and placed back into your body. There is no mixing with someone else blood or bodily fluids.

The downtime is minimal, and you can resume your normal activities the very next day. The same cannot be said if you opt for plastic surgery as the downtime is weeks, not hours.

Plastic surgery is an option for looking younger, however, this can be dangerous and there is no guarantee your skin will look better and younger after the swelling and redness has gone down.

Other benefits of stem cell therapy include:

  •   Reduction in bone and joint stiffness
  •   Increased stamina and energy
  •   Improved muscle strength
  •   Slowing of degenerative issues within the body
  •   Reduction of fatigue

There are also things you can do yourself, before turning to a stem cell procedure, to decrease the aging process.

Stop Smoking

Smoking damages the skin and makes you look years older than you are. Discoloration, sagging skin, and extreme dryness are a few of the many issues nicotine has on your skin.

It is never too late to quit smoking. If you need help, ask your doctor. There are now various medications that help with the nicotine cravings and offer little to no side effects.

Eat the Right Foods

There are several foods you can incorporate into your diet that will help combat the aging process. Start with probiotics as they help to regulate the digestive system and replace the bacteria in the gut with the good kind of bacteria.

Plant-based Phytoceramides, like that found in beets, brown rice, spinach, and wheat germ, can help to protect the skin’s outer layer.

Eliminating sugar and processed foods, and adding more fruits, will help your skin become softer and younger looking. Add foods rich in vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin B3 to your diet will help your skin from the inside out.

To repair the cell walls as they become part of the skin, add Omega Fatty Acids, the kind found in oils and fats, into your daily diet. Omega Fatty Acid-3, Omega Fatty Acid-6, and Omega Fatty Acid-9 are all helpful and part of the “good” fats your skin needs for a youthful look.

Sleep

Getting enough sleep is critical to looking younger and rested. It is one of the biggest problems facing adults today, the lack of quality sleep. Some individuals are able to fall asleep, but cannot stay asleep, while others can fall asleep fairly easily, but wake up often.

Cut back on caffeine, don’t watch the news before bed, and strip your bedroom of all distractions can help with better sleep. Another thing that will help is to stop eating in the evening. Many experts also say to have your bedroom a little colder to help with sleep, because your body gets warmer when it is in sleep mode.

Sunscreen and Moisturizers

Many individuals skip sunscreen when the sun is not out, or they think the sun won’t “get” to them when they are only running in and out of the stores. Sunscreen should be worn at all times because the sun can damage your skin every day.

Moisturizing your skin is another must-do every day preventative measure. Choose a thicker moisturizer that contains occlusive that helps to block the skin’s natural moisture from escaping or drying out. When your skin is moisturized, it will look and feel younger.

Sun damaged skin looks like an old leather shoe, dry and wrinkled. To prevent this, always wear an SPF of 50 or above. This includes your face, arms, hands, legs, and anywhere the sun will touch your skin.
