Union City Flea Market in Union City, Indiana may not be a familiar destination to you, but once you visit, you won't forget it!

Well-rounded, large selection, and plenty of space to store it all in, this Randolph County antique shop is simply amazing inside and out.

We each were drawn to different sections in different directions! The boys wanted to look at the vintage toys, my husband was torn between toys and all the stuff in bins and baskets and all manner of makeshift containers, while I admired the furniture.

There is such an eclectic selection of furniture here. If you are looking for mod seating or traditional or anything, anything!, I am sure they have got it (and for a great price, too). We were blown away by the variety. At one area there was this great 1960s table and chair set and right nearby was a gorgeous piano. It was all so unique!

Now, as for the vintage toys, I am amazed by what they had. Vintage Fisher Price, neat old bicycles, and a mish-mash of everything else. That was so fun!

The Old Kirshbaum Building

Even the building is a treasure. Locals know the building as the Kirshbaum building. In various states of disrepair, it is currently hoping to raise funds to save and restore this wonderful old building. Find the National Register of Historic Places plaque outside-including its estimated construction date of 1876!

When you start really looking around, you notice the stately pillars, the very high tin-covered ceilings, and the great front windows. Those really paying attention may also notice the grand old store safe.

It's a beautiful safe. The kind that features fancy script with the name R. Kirshbaum, the "R." is short for Raphael. A scene is pictured on the big black safe. That in itself is almost a work of art. Much like the rest of the items inside the shop, it, too is memorable.

Go There

I will never, ever understand how anyone could possibly spend their money on big box furniture when there are all these beautiful, long lasting, and heirloom quality pieces in Indiana antique shops.

Head to Union City for Union City Antique Mall -and please consider bringing along a little something extra to help with renovations. There is a donation jar perched on the front counter. These buildings are what make our small towns!
