UKT Application Guidelines for nuNAAT

FTC disclaimer: Items were sent for review but as always, opinion is all of my own.
Between emails and random people at work asking me what I did to make my hair look so good, I figured I would give you ladies the low down on how it all went down when using the nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin Touch treatment.  Since using the initial treatment, I have done the treatment in my hair about once every 40 days.
Now I am not going to sit here and tell you this is a quick process, because it's not. The first time I used it, it took me about 3 hours to do. Since the, it's taken me about 2 1/2 hours, because even though  I read the directions at the start of application,  I read them as I was doing the process to make sure I was doing it correctly, so cutting the 30 minutes was just the part of reading in between application. So despite the amount of time it takes to do it at home, it does last 30 days and at $30, it beats a lot of the salons that charge $300 and up.
So without further ado..

First things first.. you should always do a strand test of hair from the central part of your head by applying the Ultra Smoothing Gloss ( B) in the kit. Let it sit for 20 minutes and dry the hair by using a flat iron by passing it through the hair a few times. If your hair becomes fragile or brittle, then your hair is in no condition for use of this product. Wash your hair thoroughly and rinse, be sure to use a hair mask or a really good conditioner.
It's also good to have a timer nearby. I used my cell phone to time step 2 in this process.
Step 1: Prepping & Shampooing
Wash your hair with the Ultra Care Shampoo (labeled A on the bottle)

Hard to see, but this is the clear Ultra Care Shampoo ( A)

Wash your hair with the Shampoo.  Tip: Try not to use the full bottle during this step because you will need it for the last step as well. Remove any excess water from your hair and untangle your hair using a wide tooth comb. Dry your hair with a blow dryer. Once that is complete, You will divide your hair into 4 sections down the middle of your hair.
Step 2: Smoothing Once you have divided your hair, you will apply the Ultra Smoothing Gloss ( labeled B in the kit). Make sure you spread it well over the entire head. Now get your timers going. Leave the Gloss in the hair for 30 minutes. DO NOT GO PAST 30 MINUTES!

While you wait, comb your hair using the wide tooth comb every 5 minutes. ( this is where I used my cell phone to track the 5 minutes). This is where it can get a bit tricky, because the hair feels really stiff ( but trust me it's working).  Once you have reached the 30 minutes, you blow dry your hair. Once you are done with the blow dryer, get that flat iron out and pass the flat iron through the hair several times. This will seal the Ultra Smoothing Gloss in the cuticles of the hair.
Important: The temperature of the flat iron should be 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C.
Wait 20 minutes.
Almost done ladies!
Step 3: Finishing Wash your hair using the Ultra Care Shampoo ( A) again.  Rinse well, and apply the Ultra Care Conditioner ( labeled C in the kit). Massage into the hair for 2 minutes, then rinse.
Finish styling your hair as you normally would.

Some tips when you initially do the test, wait 48 hours before washing your hair as well as void wearing any hair ties or any kind of hair accessories or placing your hair behind your ears. ( Ladies I know the urge will be there, but try not to for 48 hours).
Let me know in the comments if you have tried the nuNAAT Ulta Keratin Touch and post a pic on instagram and hash tag with #UKTHair so I can see how fabulous you all look!
XOXO
