This fish market in Udupi, Karnataka is unique. It’s spotlessly clean, huge, well stocked and solely run by women. Even the majority of the buyers are ladies. In the true sense it’s a market “of the women, by the women, for the women.”
Arunita Datta is a teacher by profession with an avid interest in culinary culture of any place under the sun. Cooking and chronicling her efforts and experiences have been one of the most favorite hobbies of her. She loves to collect recipes and tries them out periodically. Good old “adda” sessions with home cooked food is her all time favorite.
