Ubuntu, the most popular open-source operating system is now suiting up to dominate the smartphone world with its’ latest version for smartphones. Finally, Android is about to meet a well-worthy rival from its’ own Linux family.
Android is now much stronger and evolved than any other mobile operating system in the world. But, Ubuntu OS comes to smartphones with few game-changing features and improvements including an innovative swiping gestures features that allows user to access apps, content and controls easily from anywhere without having to navigate back to the home screen.
That’s not all, it also has a very attractive and personalized user interface, HTML5 and native code apps and many more features that makes it as great as Android OS.
Couple of months ago, Mozilla also revealed their FireFox OS for smartphones. Although, there was no chance for it to even come close to Android. But, with Ubuntu’s well-recognized name all over the world and better technology leaves a possibility of challenging Google’s Android OS, someday soon.
Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu states that Ubuntu-powered smartphones will arrive in stores in Q4 2013. More details will be revealed at CES 2013.
