Twist

By Ashleylister @ashleylister
A short preamble this week after the emotional roller-coaster of last night's theater at Bloomfield Road - and a first win of the season for the mighty Seasiders. In the parlance of cliché, 'Life's a bitch and then you die' [unless you're a Buddhist, in which case 'Life's a bitch and then you get to do it all over again'], but in the parlance of game theory, it's all about the streaks: winning, losing, sinister, dextrous etc etc. For what it's worth:
A Hand of Fate
Harlequin’s deck makes fools of us yet we can’t resist the play. Fate, deal what you may…
Four of spades, that’s music made from deep within the soul; Tamla quatrains in motor city diesel rains… Twist!
Oh. Queen of Hearts, she learned black arts! Affection spurned turned poisonous, burned a bitter course… Twist!
Two of diamonds,
offsprung mined and bright with promise hold a tight connection of filial affection… Twist!
Three of hearts – women I have truly loved across the years [not counting mother!] Deal me another… Twist!
Ace of clubs! Tangerine dream team, supported since a boy through thin and thinner hoping not to fold... Stick!
