Tweed is a different animal than most fabrics. It is hard to wear without looking like a grandma at the church bakesale. There is nothing wrong with actually being a grandma at the church bakesale, I am just saying. I would hope it is not the goal of women under 40 to look like gma. That’s all. I was being all negative on tweed this morning, but then I came across this gem. This dress, featured in the September issue of Real Simple Magazine mixes tweed with leather accents. It also costs less than $150! When you enter WELCOME20 at checkout, you will receive 20% off your order.

Well, not if your boss wears jeans with an elastic waistband and no pockets. Wear tweed sparingly, you don’t want to overdo it, accents here and there will look polished. An entire tweed suit which I hop you can only find at the Goodwill and your local hoarder’s house, is not a good choice.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but even accessories need to be chic tweed and not just some ratty looking creation, as seen below. I don’t care its Dior people. I wouldn’t wear it if I got it for free. Sorry Sofia Vergara. $5,000 could feed a lot of hungry people.
