Hulu has struggled attracting audiences to their original series. I feel like shows like Deadbeat and The Awesomes largely fly under the radar. I think this one could be their first big breakout, though I don’t know how many seasons I would want to watch of a parody.

Tawny has a charity that raises money for dogs to have high heels. She thinks her husband is dying. He just has allergies.

Shauna goes out for toilet paper and comes back with thousands of dollars of crap. She doesn’t know if she has 4 or 5 daughters.

Veronica is the naughty one, who spends a while making a joke about coming. She’s a cougar. She runs a mini golf course called hot holes. Veronica trains “in the butt”.

Crystal is the religious one. Her husband uses the bible to control her. She’s never actually read the bible, she just believes what he tells her.

Phe Phe is a lawyer, a cake designer, an aspiring taxidermist, and many other things. Her husband is a professional mascot. Phe Phe speaks her mind. She’s got to be Phe Phe.

Amanda was in a commercial once, and considers herself a former child star. She got caught up in the wild life of child stars. She gave meth a whirl. She’s been sober for seven days. She’s also Crystal’s sister.

It’s an awesome parody of the entire Real Housewives series. Of course, there’s a ton of tacky dresses, cat fights, and lots of cleavage.

I just… don’t know how many episodes I actually want to watch. I might turn in for the first season, but parodies run thin… fast. Just look at all of the film franchises, like Scary Movie and Haunted House. They have seriously declining grosses between films.

As a pilot episode, it’s hilarious. Casey Wilson is perfection. The other girls are really good. The show is expertly written. I have a feeling “I’ve got to be Phe Phe” is going to be a catchphrase.

Whether you enjoy the Real Housewives franchise, or despise it, this show is worth checking out. It’s a really strong pilot.

FINAL GRADE: A-

Superman Not Kill

GOT
