Tumeric, Ginger and Garlic Kale Chips

By Take A Bite Out Of Boca @shaywiz
I’ve been in the kale fan club for awhile. I don’t see it as trendy, I just see it as another really good leafy green added to my diet. I usually just saute it with a bunch of other veggies or add it to pasta or grains, but this time I wanted to go a different route. Last month I went to a holiday party at my friend Robyn’s (you may know her as Grill Grrrl.) She put together a fantastic spread of appetizers, as well as a delicious dinner, but one of the dishes that stood out to me (and that I probably ate my weight of) was the kale chips her husband made. They are such a simple snack to make, and yet I couldn’t keep my hands out of the bowl! I have been wanting to make my own kale chips since that night. But I didn’t just want them to be plain. I wanted flavor! Not only are these “chips” full of flavor, but they are full of nutrition, too! Tumeric, ginger and garlic all have such amazing health benefits, as does the star of this dish: kale.

Here are a few fun facts about all of these healthy ingredients I put in your next movie snack!

Tumeric is a natural antibacterial agent, a liver detoxifier, a natural anti-inflammatory, and may aid in weight management.
Ginger helps to maintain blood circulation, prevent colds, and helps relieve stomach discomfort by assisting in digestion.
Garlic gives a boost to your immune system as well as your circulatory and respiratory systems, is a great source of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Kale is chock-full of vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, omega-3’s, andquercetin, a phytonutrient that helps combat inflammation.

Whew, that’s a lot of healthy in one snack. So it’s totally okay to pair it with these bars, this cocktail, or these cookies. (will be links to other posts). Right? Right.
