Tuesday Tip: The best prep for sunless tanning

Well, the very, very best prep for sunless tanning is to go to a Korean scrub spa, where you are required to sit in hot steam for 15 minutes to prep your skin for the exfoliation of a lifetime.  (CAUTION blogpost about to get graphic).  The kind of exfoliation where a stout Korean woman scrubs you to the point where mini-baguettes of dead skin fly off your body in every direction, leaving you weightless and the most touchably soft you’ve ever been past the age of six months.  In Seattle, I recommend Olympus Spa in Lynwood – I just went with my mom last week.  http://www.olympusspa.net/

To enable similarly mind-blowing results,  we created our Julep Facial for Hands Glycolic Scrub to exfoliate and prep your skin for a date, for addictive touching, and it’s excellent for sunless tanning.  http://www.julep.com/mani-care/julep-facial-for-hands-glycolic-hand-scrub

I’m dark skinned enough that all my relatives in Korea always send me “skin whiteners” for Christmas.  But some of my best girlfriends use sunless tanning, and I’ve observed some strangely streaked legs in my time.

While sunless tanning is great for avoiding UV damage, getting a smooth glow is tricky – and it’s ALL about the preparation.  Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate to smooth out your skin and create an even canvas.   Because zebras are not city animals.
