Another chatty blog post today for you all...
This morning I received a letter from a private medical group inviting me to a local area to have medical screening done to check for any existing or potential health problems. You're probably reading this and realising you're sent this often.
I phoned this group to ask to have my details taken off their mailing list and they happily obliged - but not before I had a mini meltdown and considered having the tests done - maybe I was being sent these letters for some reason? maybe my doctor recommended me? maybe the powers above are sending me some almighty message and I need to get this done or I will DIE?
I stopped, took a breath and realised something...
These groups are designed to play on your insecurities and reel you in with a medical cord to make you believe you need these tests, they send you handwitten envelopes to make you feel as though this was individually sent to you when in actual fact, these people are just trying to make a living. Since when was it OK to profit from people's insecurities? Since when was it OK to profit from health issues? Don't tell me these are there for our own good! If that was truly the case, they would send us an NHS factsheet.
I got SO worked up about this stupid letter that was full of advertising JUNK! I started to think of it as a spam letter, another piece of junk mail, and as soon as I did, life became liveable again.
Lesson of the day: Don't drink too much water or you need to pee a lot. JOKES... kind of.
Lesson of the day: Don't pay attention to anything that is designed to sell you something. Don't ever feel insecure about something that may never happen.
Don't put up with junk mail! contact them and ask to be taken off their mailing lists... I did and now I won't need to worry about it coming through the post again.
