You may remember that I recently wrote about the monochrome trend that celebrities around the world are choosing for their red-carpet looks, and this week I thought that I would look into the world of black-and-white footwear to see if this trend has filtered down to the high-street shoe stores.
I know it’s pretty easy to find a suitable pair of shoes to wear with head-to-toe monochrome – as these celebrities above show, a pair of black courts or white sandals are pretty much all you need to complete the look. But there are shoes out there that are following the monochrome trend all by themselves, so if you don’t fancy going the whole hog, you can still make a nod towards the B&W fashion by choosing a pair of mono shoes and pairing with jeans or a coloured dress instead. I am not a big fan of wearing a lot of black (I did it through most of my teen years, and that’s enough to put anyone off!) so I think I’d prefer to wear these monochrome platform beauties from New Look, flatform sandals from Mr Shoes or colour-block courts from the Debenhams sale.
Let me know if you’ll be following this trend and what other footwear fashions you’d like to see in future Tuesday Shoesday posts – leave me a comment below
