That’s right folks, we expect you all back next year, to laugh, cry, moan with exasperation (and moan in a different way for the Viking) laugh some more, and try to work out what the hell is going on all over again when True Blood Season 7 hits our screens in 2014.

As the current season is shaping up to be one of the best yet, this is very welcome news indeed.

Here’s what Entertainment Weekly had to say:

True Blood is not going anywhere: HBO just announced it ordered a seventh season of the drama.

The series’ sixth season bowed June 26, with Brian Buckner as the showrunner. The seventh year will return next summer.

“True Blood remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers,” said HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo. “Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”

HBO says the drama is “exceeding ten million viewers per episode.”

And don’t forget whatever else those crazy writer throw at us, that is at least 10 more episodes for Eric and Sookie to reunit and at least 10 more episodes to worship our Viking Vampire God!
