Travelsim Offers Cheap Data to US

Posted on the 21 May 2012 by Prepaidplans @prepaidplans

TravelSIM®, the mobile phone service for international travellers, has announced that it can now offer Australian travellers $1 (USD) per megabyte for data in the United States. Travelsim’s great new rate offers great savings for travelers considering using roaming or other international sim cards when traveling to the US.

“What does $1 a megabyte mean for travellers? It means that they will be able to have access to the Internet in the United States with the knowledge that if they want to check their email in Nevada, update their Facebook page in New York or Google the name of a restaurant in Chicago, they will be able to do this confident that upon their return to Australia they won’t be facing a horrendous phone bill,” said Jamien Zimmermann, the CEO of TravelSIM.

Zimmermann said that high global roaming charges are still a major issue for all travelers including Australians. TravelSIM’s latest move shows that the company has taken a big step toward addressing it and that the company, which offers prepaid service in over 190 countries, is striving to continue to reduce data costs worldwide.

“We continue to work hard to bring these costs down. $1 a megabyte is good, but we plan to do better while delivering our comprehensive Australian-based customer support. Watch this space,” Zimmermann said.
