Driving through the Black Forest was thrilling and not just because there's no speed limit on the autobahn. In the mornings, the forest is covered in thick hazy gray fog that plays out like the opening montage of a scary movie. It dissipates by midday revealing acre upon acre of lush green trees that shoot into the sky. The forest is so thick it lives up to its namesake. Every time we got out of the car, I felt like Little Red Riding Hood (particularly in this outfit) and had to resist the urge to run into the forest recklessly disregarding any signs of danger or wolf.
