Today should be a very interesting day in the football universe. Usually I hate repeating transfer rumors as a majority of them are made up and completely false. With that said, it is deadline day so here are the latest rumors being most talked about in the papers.
- Arsenal seem to be the busiest in the transfer market. After the official move for Korean striker Chu Young Park, the Gunners look to have signed German CB Per Mertesacker and Brazilian LB Andre Santos. Many other players have been linked with a possible move to Arsenal including French midfielders Yann M'Vila, Marvin Martin and Florent Malouda.
- Former Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves looks close to singing with Manchester City. He reportedly completed a 3 hour medical with the club that was apparently very successful.
- Joe Cole's disappointing Liverpool career may be coming to an end. With the plethora of midfield options at Liverpool's disposal, Cole looks to be loaned to French Champion Lille for the rest of the season.
- Newcastle look to be setting their sights on Manchester United youngster, Federico Macheda. The Italian has not seen any playing time since the preseason and with the other United youngsters seeing time on the pitch, maybe Macheda has fallen out of the plans for Sir Alex.
- Sunderland will look to bolster their squad with the addition of Peter Crouch from Spurs. With the addition of Emmanuel Adebayor at White Hart Lane this season, Crouch is now surplus to requirements. Also West Ham midfielder, Scott Parker looks to be headed out after submitting a transfer request and possibly will be joining Tottenham.
