Track Of The Day: Pixies - 'Talent'

One of the few highlights from the rather disappointing new Pixies album 'Head Carrier', which is out now. After the indie-rock icons returned a few years ago with the patchy 'Indie Cindy' album, I was hoping for a return to the form of their glory days, but it seems I was asking too much. Aside from this brilliant track, the catchy 'Tenement Song' and the fine album closer 'All The Saints', it's hard to believe that such a lacklustre LP is the work of such an influential group. The band's 6th studio album was released on September 30 and is the first Pixies LP to feature new bassist Paz Lenchantin. It was produced by Tom Dalgety, who previously worked on Royal Blood's debut album. In late November and early December, the band will be playing a series of UK shows.

God Is In The TV writers Loz Etheridge and Tim Russell recently went head-to-head in a heated debate about the quality of 'Head Carrier', which you can read HERE
