That’s a tall order, we know, but we are passionately committed to delivering this to hatching readers everywhere. Please join us on this magical journey of eggsploration.Our experience: Upon signing up, my 8 year old daughter set out to take the placement test. Reading Eggs ranked her as having the read skills of a 5.5 year old and placed her at Map 8 out of 13. The lessons were PAINFULLY boring and extremely easy for her. In one excercise, it had her put simple words in the correct order to make a sentence. After she did that, the program had her do it again. She was not happy.
The rest of the 'younger' area was very difficult to navigate. So, I had to email the company and ask them how to change her lesson level. Even after upping her reading level to 13, the lessons were still too easy.
With that, I had her go over to the 'older' section and look around. This area reminded me of Facebook's 'Yo-ville' and is filled with bizarre alien-like creatures along with 'normal' humans. Neither one of us liked this area.
