Toronto’s ArtBomb, Bringing Canadian Art To Canadian Art Lovers!

By Phjoshua @thereviewsarein

ArtBomb Daily Auction PiecesToronto auction site ArtBombDaily.com is bringing Canadian art by Canadian artists to Canadian art lovers.

Launched in Toronto on December 7, 2011, ArtBomb has become an outlet for artists and a haven for art buyers in their first year of business.

Built on the premise of Daily Deal sites like Groupon and Auction sites like Quibids, ArtBomb delivers a morning email with a link to the available piece of art and opens that days bidding. At the end of the day the highest bid takes home their art. Bidding is open everyday from 6am to 11pm and pieces are delivered within 2 weeks of purchase.

It’s simple, it’s effective and best of all, it’s local!

Note: As a special bonus, all Royal Ontario Museum members are eligible to receive a 20% rebate on all successful ArtBomb bids until February 13, 2013.

So far ArtBomb has seen total sales of more than $60,000 in art. And with the move to 7 days a week now in play, 2013 figures to be a bigger and better year for artists and art lovers alike. In fact, the numbers are speaking for themselves with close to 7,000 current email subscribers, over 1,100 Twitter followers and 500 plus Facebook likes all eyeballing daily pieces of art and making bids online.

At the one year mark the team at ArtBomb, Andrea Carson Barker (@Carzoo on Twitter), Carrie Shibinsky and Jim Shedden know that there is room for improvement and growth and are excited about the prospect of bringing more exposure for Canadian artists to the Canadian art lover community!

Community Manager, Trish Cassling, is also excited as the social media community becomes more and more involved in the conversation and bidding process. Over the last 2 months she has seen growth on Twitter (@artbombauction), Facebook (facebook.com/artbombdaily), Tumblr (ArtBombDaily.tumblr.com) and Instagram (@artbombdaily) while also noticing more questions and comments on her daily posts. However, her favorite thing may be when the artists join in the conversations themselves. When I asked her she told me, “[I think] it’s really great when the artists take the time to come to the page and talk to the ArtBomb Facebook fans. It’s an extra chance for them to connect and to expose a new audience to their art.”

While we all may be tired of the daily deal emails that hit their inboxes over and over again without offering anything unique or useful, ArtBombDaily.com is glad to offer something unique 7 days a week and if what you see today doesn’t work with the decor in your livingroom, there’s always tomorrow!

If you or someone you know are interested in having art featured at ArtBombDaily.com please send a message to the team on Facebook or Twitter.

Stay awesome kids!
