Torches’ newest track, “Future”, finds the childhood friends expanding on their stereophonic, heartland rock. Their warm mix of confessional lyricism and dance oriented indie pop recalls the early work of The Killers and the youthful charm of Local Natives. In fact, “Future” was actually mixed by Chandler Harrod (Local Natives, Best Coast) at Capitol Records, which adds some more California cred to their lush, top-down vibes.
