Topshop Grey Marl Speckled Midi Dress

By K @stylesocoy
I first saw this dress back in November and I immediately fell in love with it, however, at the time I thought £29.00, for what is essentially a really long, grey, speckled T-shirt, was a little bit over priced.
I was wrong!!
I eventually caved last month and bought this online. Let me tell you it is amazing, basic, but amazing none the less.
I'm 5 ft 8 and this dress falls just below my knee but, if you're taller, this is available in the Tall range and if you're pregnant there's one in the maternity range for you too.
If you're not really keen on the midi length style then you can pick this up in a short version too. The short version has a couple more colours to choose from and is a little bit cheaper too at £25.00. I'm really tempted to buy the yellow one!
Because this dress is one long block of color it's nice to add a belt for some detail. At the moment I'm really loving wearing thick jeans belts as waist belts, just to add a bit of contrast to all my dresses. I've been struggling though to find one in the right size.
I got this belt, and a black one the same, from Dorothy Perkins at Christmas. I picked them up in a small thinking that they would fit around my waist instead of my hips, but they are still a bit too big, think I'll have to add some extra holes so I can create a better cinching effect with them!

I think I've learnt a bit about my shopping style with this dress. When I choose items I always look for items that I love and that have something 'special' bout them, but I never seem to buy basics. I can see a change on the horizon.
