Most people think that Android is the best, most affordable and the most user-friendly mobile operating system in the world. Well, that’s true. To be honest, those are actually my thoughts. However, I do know some people who doesn’t like Android-powered smartphones. I don’t blame them, everyone has different needs and likes. So, for those people and others who got tired of Android and would want to try something new, I’ve made a list of which I think are the best alternatives to Android.
Windows Phone 8
No one would have guessed that I would choose Microsoft’s Windows Phone over iOS. Well, I have my reasons. First, Windows Phone devices are more affordable than iPhones. Second, the ability to choose different type of phones.
When comparing Windows Phones with iPhones. I found some amazing devices like Nokia Lumia 925 to be even better than iPhone 5, when considering its’ better specs and bigger screen. Even the cheaper Windows Phones like Nokia Lumia 620 have great specs and all the features of WP8.
Windows Phone 8 is the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system. This version of the OS has a lot of amazing features, some actually better than Android and maybe even Apple’s iOS.
Apple iOS
Apple doesn’t allow other companies to use their operating systems. So, they only makes one smartphone that gets powered with their iOS. That’s the iPhone. Sure, it comes in several generations but they all have the same-looking design and features.
Although, I must admit that iOS could actually be the best mobile OS made so far. If you can forget about getting stuck with an iPhone forever and the expensive price tag, you’ll begin to see the quality of this operating system. When it comes to best and the smoothest user experience, iOS wins the battle.
Ubuntu Phone
There are a lot of other great smartphone operating systems out there like Blackberry OS but, I chose Ubuntu Phone because this has a bright future ahead of it. With its’ own unique features, the most popular open source desktop OS , Ubuntu made its’ way over to mobile world earlier this year.
The beautifully simplified user interface is the main selling point of this smartphone. Even though I haven’t had a chance to use an Ubuntu Phone yet, I believe this phone has the potentials to make a change in the smartphone history.
Ubuntu Phones are not available in the market yet, but Canonical made a promise to launch Ubuntu powered smartphones in early 2014.
