Top Ten Tuesday: Settings I Want To See More OfTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where you post the 'top ten' for each week.
This week, the top ten is: top ten young adult debuts for 2013! Here's a few of the new authors we will be introduced to in the upcoming year!
  1. The beach. Books set in this area are some of the best contemporary novels ever. For example, a lot of Sarah Dessen's novel have beach scenes, which are awesome. Then you have the Summer series by Jenny Han which is simply flawless. Bring me more sand and waves!
  2. The American Midwest. Okay, so I live in Wisconsin and you rarely find books set in this area. If you do, they're all about farming and country things like that. I want a story about someone living in this area that DOES NOT do this.
  3. Manhattan, New York, etc. Stories like Gossip Girl and the Clique are some of my guilty pleasures because New York is my dream place. Of course, the bitchy girls aren't a necessity, but I do want to read more books about a character in a posh lifestyle in upstate New York.
  4. Boarding school/private school. I've always wanted to attend a private school, so I definitely love reading about them. I really need to read the Gallagher Girls series though!
  5. In-between World. I like books that have a sense of reality and a sense of imagination to them. Like a character that can jump between one world to the next. Something that's like "in-between." This could be an in-between of life/death or real/mythical. I just think it would be interesting!
  6. Other planets. My inner nerdiness is coming out! I do love learning about other planets and the stars, and you don't find too many novels about other entire planets. Usually it's a book that's set way in the future but it's realistic enough that it could be on Earth. I just want something different than boring ole Earth.
  7. London, England. I wish I could live in England. I love the slang, the area, the people - everything about it. Oh, don't forget the accents! I love characters that come from England and live in the States because they just spice everything up! Imagine having all that spice concentrated - PERFECTION.
  8. Paris, France. Okay. I was always one of those girls that didn't really WANT to go to Paris. It just seemed totally cliche and yeah. After reading Amy Plum's series and Anna and the French Kiss - THOSE BOOKS CHANGED MY MIND. I need a plane right now to Paris! Of course, books in this area would satisfy me for a while.
  9. Russia. Ever since Rose took a journey through Russia in the Vampire Academy series, I've been entirely intrigued in Russia.  I haven't seen to many books set in this country, which disappoints me!
  10. Late 1800's. There. I said it. I want more historical books. I may LOVE history but I sometimes get frustrated by historical novels. I just can't connect with them as much as I can with the other books I read. I want more Victorian era books, like the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare!
