Description Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week a different topic comes up and bloggers list their top ten books in that category. I love a good list...I've always said that. That's practically my catchphrase.
Top Ten Favourite Books You've Read During the Lifespan of Your Blog
I started my blog back in March so I have been doing it for exactly 6 months! I have read some very good books and some very bad books (and quite a few mediocre books too). Here is the cream of the crop:
10.
Title: Tamara Drewe Author: Posy SimmondsWhy I Loved It: I seriously rate this graphic novel. It is so English, and satirical and has pretty artwork. It is both light-hearted and serious at the same time and I can read it over and over again.
My Review of Tamara Drewe
9. Title: Kick Ass
Author: Mark Millar
Why I Loved It: Ooof I loved the movie (probably more) but this was still awesome. It takes the story in a different direction and is a proper blood and guts superhero story with a twist.
My Review of Kick Ass
8.
Title: The Book Thief
Author: Markus Zusak
Why I Loved It: This is a very sad and beautiful book, that does something really special: it manages to be moving and sweet without being cheesy. It is narrated by Death which is really unique and I grew to like him! My Review of The Book Thief 7. Title: The Uninvited Guests Author: Sadie Jones
Why I Loved It: Oh, I am a massive Downton Abbey fan, and I love sprawling mansions and rich people problems. This book is so farcical and sparkly and intriguing that it has always stuck with me.
Book Review of The Uninvited Guests
6. Title: Seraphina
Author: Rachel Hartman
Why I Loved It: This is a very interesting book that is really imaginative and unusual. It is a fantasy, and presents dragons like you've never seen them before.
My Review of Seraphina
5.
Title: House of Shadows Author: Rachel NeumeierWhy I Loved It: House of Shadows is a very rich, deep fairytale-esque novel, with hints of magic and dragons. I loved the characters and the setting and the geisha influences.
My Review of House of Shadows 4. Title: The Immortal Rules Author: Julie Kagawa
Why I Loved It: This book was about vampires, and I never thought I would love it as much as I did. It was scary, gruesome and had a really likeable heroine. My Review of The Immortal Rules 3. Title: Defiance Author: C.J Redwine
Why I Loved It: The heroine is my favorite YA heroine EVER- she is so brave and feisty! The dual POV works well and the author is not afraid to kill off characters. My Review of Defiance 2. Title: Everything is Illuminated Author: Jonathan Safran Foer
Why I Loved It: I am kinda getting sick of the sound of myself talking about Jonathan Safran Foer, but he is my favorite author and I love him so much and everything he does is magic. My Review of Everything is Illuminated 1. Title: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Author: Jonathan Safran Foer
Why I Loved It: See above. Except a teeny tiny bit more.
My Review of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close That concludes my 'Top Ten Favorite Books Since I Started Blogging!' Making this list made me want to re-read them all!
