Are you considering dating a single mom or single parent but you’re not sure if it’s such a great idea? Well, I’ve compiled a list of my top five reasons to date a single mom. Of course, I could have come up with fifty reasons but I had to narrow them down somewhere.
Being a parent is an extremely difficult job. It becomes even more difficult when you add dating as a parent to the mix. No matter how capable a parent someone is, the combination can be overwhelming. However, despite the challenges, there are some real benefits to dating a single parent. So for all you guys out there looking for a date, here are the reasons you should pick a single mom!
Reason 1: Single mothers are strong, independent women.
Single moms have a lot of responsibilities, from making sure kids have lunches and backpacks to repairing the family’s only car. This means that they have to be capable of organizing and managing their own lives. Those same traits will lend themselves well to a romantic relationship. They won’t be dependent on you for anything except your love and companionship.
Reason 2: Single moms know what they want.
Single moms in the dating pool don’t have time to play games, and they have generally aged out of the party stage. They’re looking for a long-term companion, not a drinking buddy or a one-night stand. If a single mom wants a relationship with you to move forward, she’ll tell you, instead of leaving you guessing. You will always know where it is that you stand with a single mom.
Reason 3: Single mothers appreciate the little things.
When you are a single parent, you grow to appreciate simply having an evening of conversation with another adult. Everything you do for her will feel like a grand romantic gesture. She isn’t going to be fooled by flashy gifts, but instead wants a partner that displays positive personality traits such as kindness, trustworthiness, and sincerity. A single mother will appreciate you for who you are, and not what you can afford to buy for her.
Reason 4: Single moms have a great sense of humor.
Single mothers spend a lot of time around children, which means they learn the value of laughter. Single moms generally laugh easily and often, even at the corniest of puns. If you make cheesy jokes, you’ll be in heaven. On top of that, this sense of humor means that a single mom knows how to enjoy life. This translates to an enjoyment of the time that she spends with you, ensuring that you’ll enjoy the time you spend with her.
Reason 5: Single mothers are sincere.
Single mothers have a huge responsibility on their shoulders: the happiness of their children. This means that a loving single mom won’t accept an offer for a date unless she thinks you’re a good person. She certainly won’t take you home until she trusts you completely, and she’ll let you know when your relationship reaches that level. This trust is a great foundation for a solid, lasting relationship with a loving woman.
Hopefully this has given you enough reasons to date a single mom. While the idea of dating a single mom may seem daunting, the benefits she has to offer you should be enough to make you take a second look.
