Top 5 Perth Eats & News – July

By Foodie Cravings @foodiecravings

With junior burger arriving any day now, I haven’t traveled very far from home for my July Top 5 Perth Eats. As usual I can’t get enough of my sweets and Asian food made a regular appearance last month.

Top 5 Perth Eats

#1 Dolcetto Patisserie & Cafe’s strawberry mascarpone semifreddo cheesecake ($40) - this was my lil bro’s birthday cake,  he gets it every year

:)

We managed to fit in this cheesecake after enjoying Miss Maud’s buffet in the city. I think it’s saying something when burger boy who doesn’t usually go crazy for cakes had three slices (quarter of the cake!) on a full stomach!

burger boy loves his ice cream and this cheesecake besides being sweet, and creamy, had an ice cream like texture.

#2 Fat Dragon’s Singaporean Chilli Crab – the crab meat was sweet, sauce was thick with a bit of spice and it was served with plenty of E Fu noodles. The other dish we love at Fat Dragon is the beef brisket which is always super tender and tasty. All these guys need to do is dim sum and I’ll be happy

#3 St Michael’s Peanut Butter, Salted Caramel & Chocolate dessert  - Mount Lawley’s new kid on the block St Michael’s dessert was out of this world. The puffs of peanut butter, salted caramel and chocolate in a mousse-like texture was amazing – I could have easily had a few more plates of these. Full St Michael blog post is in the making.

#4 Ben Thanh’s Banh Mi ($4) - Ben Thanh is my fav place to go for banh mi and sugar cane juice. Their super tasty home-made pate and pork belly makes their banh mi stand out from the rest. Plus it’s a great value for money at $4 a roll!

#5 Sushi Sushi’s Peking Duck Sushi Roll - burger boy absolutely loved his Peking Duck sushi roll which was filled with plenty of duck and quote tasted “just like the pancakes”. It was $3.60 and the perfect snack. I haven’t seen Peking Duck sushi available anywhere else in Perth and will be trying it next time I head to the Galleria. I didn’t get a bite, burger boy was too quick, by the time I finished instagramming this pic he had finished his sushi roll!
