My Top 5 Perth Eats of November are filled with a variety of hearty food. Having been on a vegetarian diet last month, I was craving some meat and sugar. Michelle noticed how many restaurants I've been exploring in and around the city, and encouraged this list of my favourites for the month.
- Cicerellos - Perth's top Fish N Chips
No one can deny WA's classic heroine, the best fish n chips overlooking Fremantle waters. Cicerellos promises the best freshly caught seafood including crabs, crayfish, oysters, mussels as well at the most serene and naturally authentic experience. Let me say they do deliver! Their must-have's include the traditional fish n chips and salt & pepper chilli squid. Priced below $30 per dish, it's so worth it, the portion is big and can easily be shared by two or three people (depending on your appetite).
London Court is the most mysterious lane in Perth CBD, and I love to explore it and try out the latest nibbles. Cloud Gelato, a delicious ice cream parlour opens between 9am to 6pm everyday serving the best variety of handmade artisan styled gelato, sorbets, natural frozen yogurt and premium sweets such as their exclusive Sicilian cannoli. My favourite is their latest addition, a muffle which literally is a cross between a waffle and muffin, topped with two of your best gelato choices. Mine are the pistachio and raspberry flavours. The most exciting bit is the gelato is carved into a shape of a rose, leaving you feeling both romantic and star-struck at the same time!
Fancy a rack of classic tender pork ribs, falling off the bone with the tastiest sauce to go with it? Tony Romas along Hay Street serves the star studded sampler rack for $49.50, which is enough for three people to share. It comes with two sides from a wide selection to choose from including beer battered fries, coleslaw, corn on the cob and more. A very satisfying and filling meal, paired well with wine or beer. My family loves to add onion rings, or if we are feeling hungry, more ribs! The location is convenient and the experience is priceless.
Always on a hunt for the best waffles, I have definitely met my match. This warm and crunchy Gelare waffle is so indulging and flavoursome, I can eat it by itself. But then again, who doesn't love Nutella and some classic banana and syrup accompaniment? I certainly do! Be sure to check them out whenever you're in Perth city, as well as 11 other stores around Perth. I love the cookies n cream flavour which is seen in the photograph, but there are many to choose from, so you never run out of excitement!
- Bennet Springs - Malaysian style laksa curry noodles
There are only a few curry dishes that makes my heart skip a beat, and one of them is this Malaysian style curry laksa from Bennet Springs. A very common lunch or dinner option in Singapore and Malaysia, packed with brinjal, tofu, seafood and chicken strips. I love the curry in this dish because it has a nice balance of cream, itsn't too thick, and has a nice hit of spice but it's not over powering. The noodles are well cooked and complemented my ice lemon tea. This restaurant is along Beechboro road and is usually packed with people who know what's good for them!
