TOP 14 OF 2014: BEAUTY/SKINCARE
As we've said goodbye to 2014, and hello to 2015 I thought it was time to round up my favorite products of 2014. So here's my top 14 products of 2014.
01. MAC Prep + Prime PrimerI don't think there's been a day where I haven't applied this. It creates a nice smooth base for make-up and helps foundation to stay perfectly in place all day. I love it that much I've even convinced my Mum to start using it and she loves it too!
02. Kroylan for Glossybox highlighter in CashmereI will admit this the first cream  highlighter I've ever used. From day 1 I've prefered  it much more than a powdered highlighter. It smooths on evenly over make-up and creates a natural looking glow that isn't too overpowering.
03. BodyShop Hemp Hand ProtectorI suffer with eczema and dermatitis which both cause dry skin so I go through a ridiculous amount of hand cream. I do have creams from the doctors but since discovering the Body Shops hemp range I've almost stopped using my prescribed creams. This is such a rich and deeply hydrating cream that helps retain moisture in my skin, and also make my hands look brighter and healthier.
04. Avon Eye Glimmerstick in Majestic PlumThis makes such a difference to normal black eye liner and I really like the effect that it creates, it gives a softer appearance and isn't so 'in your face' if you want a nice subtle day look. I prefer to use this on days that I wear my glasses as it doesn't look so bold and harsh.
05. Real Techniques  Buffing BrushEveryone needs this brush in their life. It allows a flawless foundation application that leaves a nice dewy finish. It makes applying foundation so much easier and I've also found that I use less foundation when using this brush.
06. Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in BackberryA gorgeous deep blue shade that has become one of my go to polishes. These polishes have a nice shine that lasts and I've also found that these polishes last longer than a normal polish.
07. MAC Lipstick in FrostThis is my go to daily lipstick shade. It's perfect for everyday but has a pinky tone to it so it isn't too boring. It keeps my lips nicely nourished and stays on relatively well, although we all know that no lipstick lasts all day.
08. EOS LipbalmThis lipbalm is miles better than any I've used. They're pretty expensive to buy in the UK so my sister kindly brought me one back when she went to Canada earlier this year. It has a rich consistency and doesn't sit on my lips and feel greasy. Once absorbed it leaves my lips feeling nourished and hydrated. It gives a nice natural shine and is also handy to put over lipstick.
09. Benefit They're Real MascaraI haven't used this mascara for a while but it is one that I love. It made my lashes look nice and long, but still natural. It added volume where needed without making them look clumpy.
10. Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Body MilkAs mentioned earlier I suffer from very dry skin and it's hard for me to find products that not only nourish my skin, but also don't irritate. This really helps to nourish my skin and locks in the moisture. It also smells gorgeous and is kind to my skin. This is like a miracle in a bottle for me.
11. Coconut OilI really can't say enough good things about this product. It's a highly nourishing and hydrating natural oil that smells gorgeous. It's a great substitute for shaving foam, facial cleanser, body moisturiser, hair conditioner - the list goes on!
12.Sally Hansen Hard as NailsI sometimes wear this alone on my nails or use it as a base coat. It helps to harden and strengthen the nail which in time encourages the growth. My nails have grown much healthier since using this and it prevents nail polish from staining.
13. NYX Smokey Eyes PaletteThis is by far my go to palette when getting ready for a night out, it has the perfect combination of shades to create a going out look. The colours have really good pigmentation and blend together nicely.
14. Lavender OilThis is such a simple thing yet the benefits are beyond belief. I no longer use bubble baths due to my skin, so instead I put a few drops of pure lavender oil in the water. It creates a beautiful aroma and after a bath containing this I sleep like a baby. It's definitely something I recommend if you have trouble sleeping.
