I bring you the above chart in honor of Black History Month. It is from a Washington Post / SSRS Poll done in 2019 -- but I doubt very much has changed since then. It shows that far too many Americans are ignorant about the history of slavery in the United States.
That needs to change. We cannot fix our racial problems and truly become the nation of equality that we claim to be until we learn our own history -- even the ugly parts.
