The most recent Tomb Raider has sold over 8.5 million copies, making it the top-selling game in the franchise’s history.

Developer Crystal Dynamics broke the news today saying that the game has now become the best-selling entry in the series’ history. On launch, the game broke first-day and first-month sales records, according to developer.
“Tomb Raider ignited and expanded the fan base, pushing the series to a new level,” Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher said in a statement. “The game’s incredible sales success reflects the passionate response of players.”
