Today Is The Day

It’s June 10 folks, and that can mean only one thingafter months of waiting, it’s finally time for the return of True Blood.

For the next 12 weeks we will be returning to Bon Temps to catch up on the latest supernatural going-ons. After the disappointing end to Season 4, Team Eric will be desperately trying to put the whole Amnesic Eric mess behind them and rejoice in the viking’s return. And I decided there will be no better time to remind ourselves why we became so involved in this fandom in the first place and what is actually so completely magnificent about True Blood.

Hopefully the 2 little videos below will help us remember.

Let’s hope that Season 5 can get back on track with some sheer viking awesomeness and some great characters performances from our favorites such as Pam, Steve Newlin, and of course the mighty Russell Edgington after his mid-season return. Let’s hope that the vampires take center stage and the other, totally irrelevant, creatures and story-lines don’t send us to sleep. Let’s hope they manage to bring Sookie Stackhouse back from the brink and make us root for her again.

A final word from the fantastically brilliant Kristin Bauer Van Straten on one of this season’s most anticipated story-lines – when Eric met Pam.

“It’s a very sweet story,” Bauer von Straten said of Pam and Eric’s first meeting in an interview with fans. “I can’t give it away, but it explains so much of where she came from as a human and her vulnerability and how she became a vampire has a lot to do with her choices.” She added that Pam’s back story surfaces early on in the season: “It really informs us of who she is, what we’ve seen for four years, and also why Eric is her one person. So you’ll see, this year I think that question should be answered a lot in the first four episodes.”

Seriously, I can’t wait to see this back-story unfold. And I can’t wait to see Mr Northman get involved with The Authority, his old adversary Russell, and his mysteriously never mentioned before vampire sister.

Who cares who the contractual  leads are – we all know who the star of the show is!

Today Is The Day

We look forward to sharing the season with you all and can’t wait to hear the (no doubt very varied) views of Team Eric on True Blood Season 5.

Good luck everyone!
