T•K•MAXx & The Times | My Style Identity*

By Vividwinter

Hello there!

So the Times and T•K•MAXx have published an online Style Identity test where you can kinda get a better idea of what your style is all about. My results came back as RETRO being my signature style and ROMANCE as my accent.

RETRO

T•K•MAXx & The Times | My Style Identity*
As someone with a RETRO style identity you feel a strong connection to the past. The style is often fun and quirky, and takes inspiration from the cool looks of days gone by, including quality fabrics and strong silhouettes. You love beautiful cloth and colours, and for you the feel of a garment is as important as the look. Having a RETRO style identity means clothes serve you, rather than the other way round. Women go for vintage-inspired flirty silhouettes with cinched in waists and full skirts. For men it’s all about a nod to the 60s with skinny ties, straight trousers and bold shirts.

Your ROMANTIC style identity means you have a strong connection to the natural world and are instinctively drawn to nature-inspired designs and fabrics. Sheer, floaty materials appeal to you since they reflect your strong sense of compassion and desire to care and be cared for. The romantic style flows from your body with ease, and you are not afraid to show your emotional side. You aren’t someone who seeks the limelight. You feel happy to blend in a little, secure in the knowledge that your style is a reflection of who you are. This look is softer with lots of floral prints and winter pastels. Frosty blue, pale pink and cool mint tones are key and fabrics are sheer and lightweight. Frills, peplums, lace and layering feature heavily. For men, think Lord Byron or Benedict Cumberbatch – velvet, classy shirts, silk cravats and adorable hair.

In my opinion I think this is a fair assumption. I definitely agree that I am Romantic. My boyfriend is always going on about my ‘floaty tops’ and I do love a nice bit of silk or chiffon! The Retro aspect? Um, well I do love pin up type fashion, full midi skirts (minus the big sticky out-y petticoat thingies. What are they called? Someone clue me in?) and that type of thing but that’s as far as my retro goes really. Out of the options, I’d have said I was Romantic and Bold.

Which will you be – Retro, Glamour, Romance, Bold or Street Chic? Take the test here.
