Tired of Ballerina Flats? Try the Lady Loafer Trend

Tired of Ballerina Flats? Try the Lady Loafer TrendEarly fall is a time when most of us break out our ballerina flats.  The weather isn’t always cold enough to slip your feet into boots but your sandals have already been packed away.

If you’re feeling like you need some sort of a change-up for the fall season and are finding your ballerinas a bit staid, try the loafer.  Loafers are back in a big way and this season they’re much more feminine than they have been in years past.

I like loafers, in theory, but have avoided the more masculine styles that have been offered in past years because, between having large ankles and small feet, they always looked clunky on me.  I need a more feminine look to my loafers and am liking some of the popular new fall styles.

Take a look at some of the outfits I put together using these more ladylike loafers to see if this is a trend you may want to try.

An animal print loafer, in a more feminine style, can add some punch to a basic sweater and jeans look.

With a splash of trendy yellow and in an animal print, this more traditional loafer is feminized.

Loafers look great with trousers, a common workplace staple.  To add a feminine touch to a more conservative look, a shocking pink suede loafer with a gray pair of pants can look elegant and polished.

Woolen capris are a great early fall style and look great when worn with a feminine loafer.  Throw on an early fall coat, a pair of leather gloves and a splash of color through your handbag and you’re ready for work with style.
