Friendly Fires dropped their hotly anticipated sophomore album ‘Pala’ a few days ago. And it’s a stormer, edging their sound even closer to a dancier template than their first album, it’s flecked with woozy beach-side electronics and 80s funk over those winsome vocals. Buy a digi copy here.
I was expecting a typically high-octane tech-house remix from Mr Green, rushing bass, filtered build ups… the works. But instead he stays in keeping with Friendly Fires’ blissed-out sound, layering it with chirpy click-clacking house beats, cowbells and a slow-ish tempo. And, of course, the level of production on the remix is nothing less than superb:
