I was really pleased to be able to review Nicci French's latest novel for the the new issue of Shiny New Books. I've been a fan of French's intelligent psychological thrillers for years, and have been loving the most recent series, of which this is the fourth. All four feature Frieda Klein, who I describe in the review as a "troubled insomniac psychotherapist". In this one, Frieda travels back to the village where she was born and brought up, and confronts some of the demons of her own past. Enthralling. You can read my review of Thursday's Children here.
