Throwback Thursday

By Nikki Sumner @gamergirl0621
Hello and welcome to the second edition of my blog series ThrowBack Thursday.
The topic for today is Toys, so take a seat and enjoy a journey back through time!
So as you all probably know by now I was a child of the 80's which meant I grew up in an era of Sindy Dolls, Action Men and those rollerskates that attached to your shoes! I have very fond memories of my old toys and my mom has even kept some which my son has also played with over the years!
To kick things off here are some of the toys that I had

Hands up if you had the amazing Fisher Price Treehouse, this is one of the toys that my mom kept and although it is missing the odd bit it is still in fantastic condition! I loved the lift in the middle and the little dog house on the outside!

I was a huge Sindy fan forget Barbie she didn't interest me Sindy was the only one for me!! I can still remember going to buy this horse and carriage set from an old toyshop in Solihull with some birthday money and the sheer joy when it was finally mine!

The good old Fisher Price record player which I think my mom bought second hand from a Blue Peter Bring an Buy sale and which now lives in my son's bedroom!

Mousetrap I loved this game and again this another one that my mom has kept and we still play sometimes well try to as some bits have gone!! I know you can still buy this but to me the more modern version just isn't as good as the one we had!!
So those were some of the toys I had but what about the ones I wanted but never got?

The Sindy House, even now I can still remember how much I wanted one of these but to afford one in those days you had to be mega rich!!! I think I would still be happy now if someone bought me one!!

Fashion Wheel another toy that I wanted but never had, I remember my best friend at the time had one and I loved going to play at her house so I could have a go with it!!

A Raleigh Chopper the only bike of choice in the 1980's!! My brother had one which was second hand whilst I had a second hand Raleigh Tomahawk (a smaller version with no gear) and by the time he outgrew it, it had fallen apart. I was gutted as I hoped it would last long enough for me to have it but alas no it wasn't meant to be!!
What were your favorite toys of the 80's?
