Thrifty Fashion ~ Top Wardrobe Additions for Milder Days

By Cassiefairy @Cassiefairy

As the summer season comes to a close and the cooler temperatures emerge, now would be an ideal time to re-evaluate your wardrobe and make sure that there are some pieces of clothing that will be suitable for these impending milder days. Strappy summer dresses, vest tops and cutesy shorts can be put away for another year – it’s time to pull out the chunky knits, comfortable jeans and waterproof jackets.

While you may still have plenty of choice from last year, it’s always nice to treat yourself to some new clothes to keep up with current trends. Here are some great options to add to your autumn wardrobe and some that I will definitely be investing in this year!

Chunky Knits

On the blustery days, there’s nothing better than wrapping yourself up in a chunky knit sweater as you venture out into the cold. With plenty of women’s knitwear available from George, you will be able to choose from a selection that will suit your style perfectly. The G21 Chunky Knit Cardigan in cream (below) would be an ideal option to add to your outfit if you’re feeling a little chilly, while there are plenty of beautiful and high quality sweater choices available, too.

Cardigans

Women’s knitwear spans a whole range of clothing that would be perfect for the autumn wardrobe, including a vast array of cardigans. The versatile cardigan would look great with most outfits and is a staple part of any ladies wardrobe. From the beautifully soft textured knit cardigan in royal blue (below) to the versatile open front cardigan that can be effortlessly thrown on over a pair of skinnies and a simple t shirt to keep the chill at bay, cardigans are an absolute essential.

Jeans

Whether you prefer straight leg, bootcut or skinny, jeans are a great, flexible addition to any wardrobe. Dress them down or dress them up, your possibilities are endless!

Add a pair of stilettos and a glitzy top if you want to head out for a few drinks without worrying about dressing up too much, or wear with a funky pair of Converse on casual days. As autumn and winter arrive, pull out your knee high boots too, which will look just as fabulous with a pair of skinnies as they would with a skirt and opaque tights.

Tartan

It’s the in-thing this season and available in many different colours and styles. From blue tartan shorts with thick denier tights and knee highs to checked pencil skirts perfect for work or a visit to a nice restaurant, if you’re a sucker for seasonal trends, tartan is the one to look out for this autumn.

Accessories

From belts and beads to hats and gloves, make sure you have lots of autumn-friendly accessories to add your own sense of style to your outfit. You have plenty of time, over the coming weeks and months, to add items to your wardrobe and watch your selection grow. Be wise with your purchases and choose things that can be mixed and matched so that you can make the most out of your autumn buys.
