I can't believe the last post I wrote about posture was in 2009. Since then my practice to improve my posture has gone through all stages. Now fast forward to 2019 with the increased time spent hunched on computer and phones, it has been a real issue. In the last quarter of 2018 I was suffering from acute pain in my traps and shoulder. Partly it was due to sitting for long periods of time and partly due to strenuous working out. Over the last couple of months I have taken some constructive steps to improve my posture and have seen results.
STRETCH

I will be honest, I have a love-hate relationship with Yoga. There are years when I am dedicated to the practice but if for some reason I fall off the bandwagon I find it hard to get back to the regular routine. Thankfully, I have found my way back to the studio twice a week and couldn't be happier about it. However, even without Yoga, I do stretch both before and after my workouts. I wish I could do it for longer duration but something is better than nothing. Stretching has also improved my poster. This has definitely been a good stretch for my upper body.
ROLL THE KNOTS

I have been using these lacrosse balls for almost a year. They are perfect to loosen the knots that usually form due to stress or heavy lifting. I try and use them for 5 minutes before and after my workout everyday. Not only does it work, it is also extremely satisfying to do as you can actually feel your knots loosens with every roll.
