Hellooo shimmers,
Something a little bit different today. I have decided to start a little series called 'Thoughtful Thursday'. I often hear, read, see things that inspire, motivate me, bring out an emotion or just make me think. Whether it is a quote, a story I've heard or just something in everyday life I thought it would be a nice idea to share these thoughts with you every Thursday. I hope you like them and I would love to know your thoughts about my thoughts and about this 'Thoughtful Thursday' Series.
For this semester at University I have been going to a community volunteering group for the University of Edinburgh Community called Roots. I have met the most amazing, inspiring and caring friends. Friends that I can rely on, trust and be myself around. Its like a little family there. We meet on a Tuesday evening for soup, some fun games and chat, and also something meaningful; whether it is discussing plans about future volunteering activities or some inspiration words from some of the lovely people who run the group.
They talk about christian morals and beliefs but its not preaching, I am not religious and I love their talks and find them so interesting and mind stimulating. It is based on how those ideas and concepts are in our everyday life. Specifically Love, Hope and Faith.
It has been eye opening and heart warming to hear their stories and experiences and it makes you look at certain things in a different light.
People have different thoughts about the meaning of love, hope and faith. What you would have as a definitions for those words other may not.
Love is...
Friendship, hope, faith, warmth, difficulty, unknown, trust, belonging...
Hope is...
Believing in yourself, believing in others, love, faith, putting a smile on someones face, seeing the light at the end of a tunnel, trust, the future...
Faith is...
Trust, belief, love, hope, bigger than fear, conviction, confidence...
Whatever you would define them as they are linked. Loving yourself and others, giving hope to yourself and to others, having faith in yourself and others. These three words are what makes the world go round. what friendship and relationships are built around, what makes you able to walk on a bridge, fly in an airplane, swim in the sea.
The more I thought about this the more I knew I had to share it with all of you. I think bringing these aspects to not only our own lives, and those closest to us but also to the wider community.
I would love to know your thoughts.
