This Week | Beauty Buys*

By Vividwinter

I did a little bit of shopping this week because it’s not long until I go back to university for the new term and I had to get a few essentials. Here’s a quick run down. :)

1 | Garnier Skin Naturals – PureActive Intensive – Exfobrusher Spot Fighter| £7.50

“Results from day one with intensive deep cleansing”

Breakdown of the good stuff for oily to spot-prone skin:

  • Ultra-Soft flexi Bristles. It’s an innovation apparently!
  • Anti-shine
  • Anti-Spot
  • Anti-Marks
  • 2% Salicylic acid & Herbasoothe

This stuff claims to ‘revolutionise your daily cleansing routine’ and the way my skin has been recently, I’ll take anything just now! – I tried this just now before bed and I noticed the really ugly, visible spots dry up and shrink within about an hour. Spot free skin needs to happen! Like, soon.

2 | Clean & Clear Deep Action – Cream Wash | £2.00

“Cleanses down to the pores for really clear skin”

I’m not sure what I’m expecting for this but hopefully it’ll help clear up the rice pudding that’s started growing on my face. Fingers crossed for me please ladies.

3 | Maybelline New York – Baby Lips – Cherry Me – £2.99  £2.50

“Moisturising lip balm with a hint of colour”

Fotor0906224531

  • Healthier looking lips
  • Baby soft lips
  • Moisturising
  • Visibly renews

Absolutely everyone has been raving about these so I decided to see what the hype was about. I chose a pretty pink shade that I thought would look nice when I didn’t fancy wearing lipstick.

4 | Rimmel London  - Kate Moss Salon Pro Nail Colour With Lycra – Urban Purple (No. 402) – £4.48  £3.00

“Hot shades fresh from the catwalk – Up to ten days chip resistant”

Fotor0906225711

Urban Purple is one of the Rimmel nail colours that is very similar to the Kate Moss version ‘Disco Fever‘ that’s in the same line. The colour is very plummy (something I love all year round, not just the Autumn) and I can’t wait to try it on!! I’m going to have to wait a while though because I tend to keep one colour on for a whole week and I have a looooong list of other colours before I get around to this one. I may do some shuffling though because It’s just that pretty!

5 | Maybelline New York – Colour Show by Colorama – Noite de Gal (No. 104) – £2.00

“Innovative gel-base that gives a fierce fashion finish”

Fotor0906224916

I’ve already done a detailed post on these polishes so it was pretty obvious that I’d go running back to get another one. It was a good job too, they were reduced by a few pennies from £2.99 to £2.00. This is a really dark and vampy purple which kinda sums me up! – I’m looking forward to this one a lot.

6 | Nicky Clarke – Frizz Control  with Iconic Straightener Technology - £15.00

“This frizz control straightener utilises iconic and ceramic technology to control frizz, leaving hair beautifully sleek, soft and frizz free”

Fotor0906224633

  • Max. 230 degrees
  • Ionic – to fight frizzy hair (sciencey stuff)
  • Long ceramic plates (for extra long (weave))
  • Plate lock – for storage and travel

These were a bit of a silly buy but I’ve been in need of straighteners (flat iron) with a cord as the ones I currently have have to have a docking station which is pretty annoying when travelling. AND they were on sale, down from God knows what price, so why not?! I didn’t look them up online, read any blogs or anything so I’ll have to test them out myself later on in the day and see If they do they trick, which I guess they will. Straighteners are straighteners to me; it’s all much of a much-ness.

I’ll have a detailed review follow this at some point when I’ve had a while to get used to the products. Feel free to share your experiences if you’ve tried any of this stuff.

**All products were originally purchased from ASDA. Prices may vary from store-to-store. Links may be to other sites.
